Golden Girl passes away at 86

LOS ANGELES — Beatrice Arthur, the tall, deep-voiced actress whose razor-sharp delivery of comedy lines made her a TV star in the hit shows "Maude” and "The Golden Girls” and who won a Tony Award for the musical "Mame,” died Saturday. She was 86.

Arthur died peacefully at her Los Angeles home with her family at her side, family spokesman Dan Watt said. She had cancer, Watt said, declining to give further details.

"She was a brilliant and witty woman,” said Watt, who was Arthur’s personal assistant for six years. "Bea will always have a special place in my heart.”

Arthur first appeared in the landmark comedy series "All in the Family” as Edith Bunker’s loudly outspoken, liberal cousin, Maude Finley. She proved so entertaining that producer Norman Lear fashioned Arthur’s own series, "Maude.”

As Dorothy Zbornak in "The Golden Girls,” (1985-1992) Arthur seemed as caustic and domineering as Maude.

Arthur is survived by her sons and two granddaughters. No funeral services are planned.

Victoria "caught him with his hand in the cookie jar," says a source.

Is John Mayer's New Song About Jennifer Aniston?

A month after his split with Jennifer Aniston, John Mayer has debuted a new song called "Heartbreak Warfare."

Aniston, 40, isn't mentioned by name in the new track, which features the chorus, "If you want more love, Why don't you say so?" and lyrics including: "Drop his name, push it in and twist the knife again; Watch my face as I pretend to feel no pain, pain, pain."

In an audio clip posted on YouTube, Mayer, 31, tells the audience on his Mayercraft Carrier 2 cruise that he plans to record the track in mid-April for his upcoming CD Battle Studies.

"The concept of the album is the war of love – the art of war of love," Mayer explained to the crowd. "Sometimes instead of saying 'I love you,' people can't recognize that. They recognize how much you come to their aid when they are in pain."

"I am a positivity man," he continued. "Sometimes people try to recognize love in terms of negativity. When you are in that situation, that is not a lot of fun."

Now that his fan cruise to Mexico is over, Mayer is heading back to the recording studio – a leased home in L.A.'s San Fernando Valley. "I gave myself a nine to five," he recently told PEOPLE. "I'm making myself wake up and be a writer. It's great."

John Meyer tells all , reported in stars magazine

How's this for a parting shot: Big mouth John Mayer wants to spill the intimate details of his relationship with Jennifer Aniston in a no-holds-barred book — including the night Jen called him "Brad" in bed!
In the March 30 issue of Star — on sale now! — we report that as if getting dumped by the singer (twice!) isn't bad enough, he's talking about penning a book sharing the very intimate details of their relationship.

"John just can't keep his mouth shut," a pal tells Star, "and he's telling friends that he's thinking of going public with all their juicy secrets."

So just what embarrassing info could John reveal? Well the fella who held an impromptu press conference on a New York City street the first time they split has a lot to say, as we detail in in our magazine. For one, Jen made a slip of the tongue calling John "Brad"... while they were in bed! He also knows all about her obsessive exercise regime, embarrassing TV viewing habits, devotion to astrology and numerology and has witnessed the actress throw fits!

Then there's the whole thing about their sex play...

But that's all we'll reveal here! You'll have to pick up the new Star today for the full story — as well as John's collection of private photos of Jen that, a source says, "she'd be devastated if they got out."
